In this singers' workshop, Eric Parce will talk about and work with singers on how to develop a confident, solid technique while maintaining their own unique sound and style. This involves always integrating the voice with the story, and finding the emotional support and attitude for the performer and the character. As a professional director and singer, Erich has the training and experience to share the most important tricks of the trade needed to unlock the wonderful voice within all of us. Baritone/director Erich Parce has performed with opera and theater companies throughout North America and Europe, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Greater Miami Opera, L’Opera d'Nice and L'Opera de Montreal. A Northwest resident, Erich has been a frequent performer with the Seattle Opera. Erich is also a regular guest of the Seattle Symphony in performances that have included Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast and David Diamond's On Sacred Ground (recorded on Delos label) among many others. Erich has also performed and recorded World premieres of Paul Schoenfield’s Camp Songs and Lori Laitman’s Holocaust 1944 and her Seed of Dream.

As a stage director, Erich has directed productions of Tosca, Pagliacci, L’Elisir D’Amore, Madama Butterfly, The Barber of Seville, Carmen, La Boheme, The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro. He has also directed Amahl and the Night Visitors, Werther, La Traviata, Gianni Schicchi, La Cenerentola, Aida and Floyd’s Susannah. Mr. Parce directed the world premiere of the opera After Life, by composer Tom Cipullo for Music of Remembrance, as well as Der Kaiser von Atlantis and Brundibar at the Seattle Children’s theater for MOR (Music of Remembrance) and the world premiere of Jake Hegge’s opera Out of Darkness in Seattle and San Francisco.
